ACTION ITEMS

ACTION ITEM! Fund Excluded Workers

Thank you so much to showing your support for funding for Essential and Excluded Workers. More funding is needed.  Please read more and sign the letter for Governor Hochul.

Letter to Governor Hochul

ACTION ITEM! Nonprofit Advocacy

New York State’s “lobbying threshold” is $5,000. This means if an organization spends $5,000 in a year doing legislative advocacy, they must register and report as a lobbyist. More space is needed for nonprofits to have a place at the table, by raising the lobbying threshold from $5,000 to $10,000. Raising the threshold will encourage more nonprofit advocacy and alleviate the administrative burden placed on grassroots organizations’ advocacy. Nonprofit advocacy brings more voices into the policymaking process. Please read more and sign on to let the state legislature know you support nonprofit advocacy!

ACTION ITEM! Take Action to Support Mamaroneck’s Long Promised Flood Mitigation Project

The trauma and loss due to Hurricane Ida has impacted many communities and many lives in Westchester from all backgrounds. In Mamaroneck, there is a solution that will mitigate the devastation that continues to negatively affect all residents and businesses and to most severely impact immigrant and low-income communities, and people of color.

Please take the time to have your business or nonprofit sign on - you do not have to operate a nonprofit or for-profit business in Mamaroneck to sign on.

Read Senate Majority Leader Schumer’s Important Press Release: “Following Last Month’s Visit To Mamaroneck And Personal Call To OMB Director, Schumer Secures $1.5 Billion For Ida-Impacted Army Corps Construction Projects In Disaster Supplemental; Senator Says New Funding Can Move Mamaroneck Project To Construction” here.

Thank you to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Schumer, Senator Gillibrand, and Representative Bowman for working to move this project forward. Sign on and let them know this issue matters to your nonprofit organization or business and you support their work.
