Peer to Peer Affinity Group 

First-ever affinity group for nonprofit personnel of color in New York State, created in response to NPW’s racial equity report, which highlights “supporting people of color to lead” as one of four key issue areas essential to building anti-racist systems. The group provides a safe space for people of color to connect with one another and grow professionally and personally.

Chaired by Michelle A. Nicholas, The Nico Consulting, Inc., and Dr. Alexandria Connally, NPW Racial Equity Consultant. 

Who should attend: BIPOC in the nonprofit workforce. NPW members and non-members are welcome. 

When: Bimonthly on Fridays, 8:30 – 10:30 AM (January 26, April 5, May 31, July 26, September 27, November 22)

Disabilities Providers Affinity Group*

*Previously titled "Disabilities Roundtable"

The Disabilities Affinity Group provides an opportunity to develop strategies, share advocacy issues and support programming to advance access and opportunity for people with disabilities, across the spectrum of physical, intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities.

Chaired by Kathleen Macias-Torres, Assistant Executive Director of Community Innovations, The Arc Westchester.

Advisory Committee:

  • Susan W. Fox, President & CEO, Westchester Institute for Human Development
  • Nancy Miller, Former Executive Director/CEO, VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired
  • Maria Samuels, Executive Director, Westchester Disabled On the Move

Who should attend: Executive Directors or appropriate staff members of organizations that serve people with disabilities in Westchester. NPW members only.

Chief Financial Officers Affinity Group

The Chief Financial Officers Affinity Group provides an opportunity for lead nonprofit finance professionals to benefit from the knowledge, talent and passion within the countywide network of Westchester nonprofit CFOs and lead finance professionals. The purpose is to: 

  • Strengthen connections between nonprofit finance leaders across the sector
  • Find new thought partners, cultivate new ideas, and develop collaborations
  • Learn from peers
  • Address high-level finance issues affecting nonprofits

Chaired by Michael Goldman, CFO, Child Care Council of Westchester and Phillip Morton, CFO, Hope’s Door.

Who should attend: Chief Financial Officers/Lead Finance Staff or Agency Consultants. NPW members only.

When: Quarterly, Fridays, In-person (January 12, April 26, July 12, October 11)

Chief Executive Officers/Executive Directors Affinity Group*

The Chief Executive Officers/Executive Directors Affinity Group is an opportunity for nonprofit leaders to benefit from the talent, knowledge, and passion in our countywide network. EDs/CEOs of Westchester nonprofit meet to:

  • Strengthen connections between nonprofit leaders across the sector
  • Find new thought partners, cultivate new ideas, and develop collaborations
  • Learn from peers
  • Address high-level issues affecting nonprofits
Chaired by Ron Abad, CEO, Community Housing Innovations, and Jirandy Martinez, ED, Community Resource Center. 

Who should attend: Nonprofit Chief Executive Officers and Executive Directors. NPW nonprofit members only. 

When: Quarterly, Tuesdays, In-person (January 9, April 2, July 9, October 8)

Leaders Inspiring Leaders Affinity Group

Whether large or small, Executive Directors and CEOs of nonprofit organizations encounter a range of unique challenges. Leaders Inspiring Leaders (LIL) offers a supportive space for first-time EDs/CEOs to connect, share experiences, and seek advice within the Westchester nonprofit community. Sessions revolve around mutual topics of interest, fostering peer learning and problem-solving.


Who should attend: First-time Nonprofit EDs/CEOs of NPW member organizations, who have been in their position for 3 years or less. NPW Members only. 

When: Quarterly, Thursdays, Virtual (February 15, May 16, September 19, December 12)

Human Resources Professionals Affinity Group

The Human Resources Directors and Managers Affinity Group offers an opportunity for lead nonprofit human resources professionals/decision makers to benefit from the knowledge, talent and passion in our countywide network of Westchester nonprofit HR professionals. The affinity group will meet to:

  • Strengthen connections between nonprofit HR leaders across the sector

  • Address HR issues affecting nonprofits

  • Learn from peers

  • Find new thought partners, cultivate new ideas, and develop collaborations

Chaired by Milagros (Milly) Rivera, Director, Human Resources, Westchester Jewish Community Services and Andrea Robinson, Human Resources Director, Rye YMCA.

Who should attend: Human Resources Directors and Managers. NPW members only. 

When: Quarterly, Tuesdays, In-person (January 16, April 16, July 16, October 15)

    NPW Disabilities Affinity Group

    The NPW Disabilities Affinity Group was established in response to concerns expressed by member organizations related to common needs and opportunities as we began to emerge from COVID-19. The Disabilities Roundtable develops short-term and long-term strategies to advance and/or strengthen shared advocacy issues, and collaborates to support programming and initiatives that support access and opportunity for people with disabilities, across the spectrum of physical, intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities.
