Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival

  • October 05, 2019
  • 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Robert E. Bell Middle School, Chappaqua, NY

The Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival (CCBF), the largest children’s book festival in the metropolitan tri-state region, will take place on Saturday, October 5 from 10 am-4 pm at Robert E. Bell Middle School in Chappaqua, New York.  145 renowned children’s book authors and illustrators will be participating in the festival’s seventh annual event.  Admission and parking are free and the event will be held rain or shine. And, this year we are privileged to have Jarrett Krosoczka kick off the 2019 festivities, as our keynote speaker, at 10 am.

In its seventh year, the Festival, promoting community and literacy, will have authors covering multiple genres and reading levels, author readings, illustrator Demos, Book Signings, books for sale, a Gourmet Food Court with “Food For Thought” food trucks from around the region offering great eats and The Great Chappaqua Bake Sale. A portion of book sales will go to benefit literacy programs in area schools and to summer reading programs. The Festival offers a new genre this year, non-fiction as well a brand new program of literacy panels with varied authors, a Non-Fiction Panel,  “Girls in the World,” “All the Feels,”: How Books Help Kids Understand Their Emotions and “Project Lit.” The panels are a great opportunity to learn directly from favorite, award winning children's authors.

The Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival is grassroots, all-volunteer effort, with community members working together so that children and teens can be inspired by their favorite authors.  The Festival gives kids and families a chance to meet and interact with the creators of their favorite characters – to appreciate that there is a real person behind the art and the words on the page.http://www.ccbfestival.org/.
