Westchester Library System Breath-Body-Mind™ Workshops

Are you, your staff and your clients feeling a little stress these days?

Westchester Library System is bringing a series of Breath-Body-Mind™ workshops to Westchester County this spring.  Breath-Body-Mind (BBM) is a straight-forward, evidence-based program for gentle breath, movement, and relaxation exercises to relieve stress, improve mood, mental focus, empathy, and performance. Program originators and internationally acclaimed experts, Dr. Richard Brown and Dr. Patricia Gerbarg will lead this series for County nonprofits.

These breathing and movement exercises help build the skills of resilience and are relevant to the needs of adults, children and families. Recognizing that this training is more important than ever as many struggle with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the training has been restructured from an experiential classroom series to a virtual educational experience with the use of ZOOM Technology.

We are offering an Introductory Workshop (May 29 & 30) and a Level 1 Teacher Training (June 19-20 and July 10-12), as well as other opportunities to experience the potential of these simple yet powerfully effective practices.

With the completion of Level-1 Teacher Training participants will acquire the fundamental skills to teach core BBM practices to individuals, assist in facilitating Introductory BBM workshops to larger groups, and help develop programs in their communities and workplaces.

FREE Breath-Body-Mind - 90 minute workshop with Dr. Brown - Monday, May 18 - 12pm-1:30pm. For those who want to get a taste of what this is all about, consider joining the May 18 90minute workshop with one of the Breath-Body-Mind originators - Dr. Richard Brown.  This class will be offered via Zoom.
