The State of Well-Being for Adolescents and Young Adults of Color, and What Parents and Families Can Do About It
Fireside Chat with the Steve Fund

Young people of color have been disproportionately impacted by multiple pandemics – COVID-19, the related financial crisis, and racial injustices. This session will provide a general state of the well-being of young people of color, exploring how to raise our consciousness as parents and individuals to understand how we can support our children as we recover and heal from this challenging time period.

David Rivera, PhD, psychologist and adviser to the Steve Fund, a national organization focused on the mental health and well-being of students of color and a member of the Morgan Stanley Alliance for Children’s Mental Health, will discuss topics including:

  • Unique issues that adolescents and young adults of color are facing right now
  • The racial divide of COVID-19 and the impacts it is already showing and will continue to have on children moving forward
  • Suggested approaches parents could adopt in support of their children's well-being

This conversation will be geared towards parents of adolescents and young adults, but everyone is welcome to attend on February 24, 4:00-5:00 PM ET.
