Winter-appropriate clothing is a basic necessity, yet for many children in Westchester, it is a luxury their families struggle to provide. Over 60,000 Westchester children live in low-income homes, with 36% of public school children qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. For these children, winter clothing is often financially out of reach.
Volunteers are needed to purchase NEW winter clothing—adult sizes only—to help New Rochelle teens stay warm this winter. Items needed include:
In partnership with the Sharing Shelf, the City of New Rochelle will help provide these clothing essentials to teens that need it. This is a great opportunity for families, friends, neighbors, community groups, or work colleagues!
