Integrating Planned Giving into your Understaffed Development Department – practical ideas for securing the future of your organization - Association of Fundraising Professionals

  • April 10, 2018
  • 8:30 AM
  • Westchester Library System, 570 Taxter Road, Suite 400, Elmsford, NY

Sue Dishart is coming to us from Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, CA.  She is currently the Planned Giving Officer of this $40+ million organization responsible for securing the future of the organization that has no government funding and does not charge for its services.  More than one-third of the annual budget is from planned gifts every year.  Prior to her move to the west coast, Sue worked in Westchester County, NY as the Vice President of Marketing and Development for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind in Yorktown Heights and Vice President of Fund Development and Partnerships for Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson.

She has worked with numerous generous donors who have made a big difference through their giving; whether it is through annual fund support, a capital project, or a legacy gift for impact beyond their lifetime. She is a member of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP), Marin County Estate Planning Council and the Northern California Planned Giving Council. Along with her strong background in business and her successful track record in all aspects of fundraising – she has developed a system for planned giving that fundraising professionals at every level can implement regardless of their resources using strategy, passion and humor.
