Clean Energy Academy Job Training

The Clean Energy Academy is accepting applications for an upcoming cohort for FREE clean energy training. This is an important opportunity for nonprofit organizations to support the employment goals of their clients, and for individuals working in construction/real estate development, O&M, Superintendent, Facilities Management and HVAC looking to expand their knowledge of building energy systems or those seeking to enter the sustainability/clean energy field and chart a new career path.  No prior experience needed. This training is completely free to all participants. Applications are due January 11, 2021.

United Way Emergency Food and Shelter Grants

United Way will provide $500,000 in Emergency Food and Shelter Grants to Westchester and Putnam nonprofits ($464,020 to Westchester and Putnam $46,087 in this round of grants).

Grant Submission Deadline: 5 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Ruderman Family Foundation: Call for Concept Papers: Exploration into a New Field

The Ruderman Family Foundation has dedicated the past two decades to enhancing awareness of, and providing programming and services in, the field of disability inclusion. The Foundation has now decided to expand knowledge of current needs by providing an open submission process of concept papers in order to learn more about innovative programming and best practices being used across any and all social fields. Open submissions from all sectors and thought leaders offering a wide range of ideas and initiatives are being accepted; concept papers focusing on disability inclusion and mental health will not be accepted.

Concept Paper Submission Deadline: Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

New York Forward Loan Fund

New York Forward Loan Fund (NYFLF) is a non-forgivable economic recovery loan program aimed at supporting New York State small businesses, nonprofits and small landlords as they reopen after the COVID-19 outbreak and NYS on PAUSE.

NYFLF targets the state’s small businesses with 20 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees (90% of all businesses), nonprofits and small residential landlords that have seen a loss of rental income.

Westchester County’s Launch1000 Program: Support to Start a Business

Westchester County's Economic Development Office has created the Launch1000 program with a goal of enabling 1,000 Westchester residents to start a business or develop an income stream for themselves and their families. Launch1000 is an online, self-paced program teaching you to evaluate your idea, test it with potential customers, and see if it seems likely to succeed.

Jandon Foundation College Scholarships

The Jandon Foundation is looking for 15 high school seniors to earn $12,000 college scholarships each given directly to students over their four-year college careers, to help cover expenses related to their educations. Recipients become part of the Jandon scholars’ community, which offers periodic events and ongoing networking opportunities.

Students who can demonstrate a financial need and who possess strong academic records, good test scores, fine character, and a portfolio of extracurricular activities, including community service, are welcome to apply. 

Application Deadline: February 12, 2021.
